Fake job postings.
This seems to be a huge issue with LinkedIn so in between reading through AI slop posting on your main page, you finally get to the jobs section and most jobs have had so many candidates apply that there isn't really a point of applying (for the 'over 100 applicants' jobs) but then you look at the lower application volume jobs. You dismiss the ones that are clearly fake job postings and apply for the ones that seem like they could be genuine, only for the job to not be genuine and then having a 'recruiter' contact you for a job opportunity.
The scam is always super formulaic and usually always follows the same themes (in my personal experience).
Surely there has to be a better platform than LinkedIn which is so inundated with slop posting, virtue signalling, highly inappropriate posts and fraudulent job postings. It almost feels like a necessary evil to have a profile on it. I genuinely believe that most people that use it feel the same.
If there was a platform that was more focused on companies and job prospectors and a way to verify and vet them I think both the people posting genuine job ads and those that are applying for those jobs would find some form of comfort in knowing that the time they're both spending on creating the job listing and applying on the job listing is not wasted.
